サイコSex @ Takashimaya, Singapore

It’s always nice to revisit people you’ve missed. While some never change, a few are bound to go rock star – like Andrew. Kudos to Andrew and the rest of the band from サイコSex for a killer set. Definitely not my scene, but that didn’t stop me from having a blast. If you’re down for some Japanese, head-banging goodness, make sure to look them up on Facebook for all of their upcoming shows.

My neck hurts just looking at these photos.

Meeting Mr. Social Media Singapore

Thursday, June 18th, 2009

Yesterday afternoon, I had the pleasure of sitting down with up-and-coming social media consultant Jasper Ong for coffee. Even as a relatively new entry into the field, Jasper demonstrated a deep understanding of the arena we work in. Ambitious, well-spoken, and eager to share, he left me motivated and with a batch of new tools to play with.

While I won’t spill all of his secrets, I just had to leak KnowEm, a site that scours 120 of the most popular social media sites to check if your name has been registered. Delicious.

If you’re looking for a social media consultant in Singapore, Jasper comes recommended; if he’s the right fit for you, he won’t let you down.

P.S. Wouldn’t be much of a social media post without a social media plug, right? Be sure to hit Jasper up on Twitter!

DJ Gig: aether @ HomeClub (Singapore)

Wednesday, June 17th, 2009

On Tuesday, June 16th, I joined the open decks at HomeClub in Singapore for a one-hour trance set. A little rough around the edges, but still a good show.

Thanks so much to everyone who came out. Incredibly blessed to have family and friends who support me no matter where I am in the world. Much love to the group of shufflers who came out of no where and stayed from start to end.

Special mentions go out to Valerie for the introduction, to Kelvin for booking me a slot, and to Nick for helping me grab a few shots!

I’ll be posting footage of the night as it comes in (provided there was some taken).

Double Block Commercial Shoot

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

This past week, I’ve been working with Harmonic Health on their first foray into the Hong Kong market: Double Block. Last Sunday, we joined the ever-talented crew from Hotdog for the commercial shoot.

Eric, the photographer on set, was kind enough to give me a look at the Sony a900, and I must say, I left a little infatuated. Wielding a high-grade 24-70mm 2.8 Carl Zeiss lens, every image came out pristine. The colours were rich, and the depth-of-field separation ran borderline Photoshopped.

And then my 5D got jealous and wiped out all of the non-Canon images on card. I was one sad dude.

Oh well. Here’s a peek at what survived. For the rest, hit the Flickr set.

Travel Photos: Macau (AKA Chinese Vegas)

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

If you take Vegas, set it back ten years, throw in a giant humidifier and turn everyone Chinese, you have Macau. Everywhere you look, new developments are being built – the most impressive being the brand new Venetian. While photography was prohibited inside casinos, I managed to grab a few shots between stops.
