UNION Yacht Party 2009: Martin Roth Loves Brewskies

UNION Yacht Party 2009: The Thrillseekers

There’s only so much a tired Cybershot can do in dimmed lights. For shame, but I digress.

Headlined by trance veterans Martin Roth and The Thrillseekers, as well as the newcomer sensation, Gareth Emery, this year’s UNION Yacht Party was hands down the party of the summer. For myself, there’s little more euphoric than trance – but listening to it on the open seas as the sun falls from the horizon? Amazing.

That and Faces got played twice. Hell yeah!

Many thanks to Gareth Emery, Martin Roth, and The Thrillseekers for taking the time to give me their autographs; looks like Andy Moor’s got company!

Dieselboy @ BOSS Nightclub

Dieselboy @ BOSS Nightclub

BOSS (formerly Atlantis) Nightclub has always been a miss for me – that is, until a couple weeks back. Straight off his gig at Shambhala, drum’n'bass legend, DIESELBOY, caused a small earthquake at BOSS Nightclub on Thursday, August 20th, 2009.

If mechanical, grinding rhythms, heart-stopping bass, and tons of KILLER half-tempo breaks are your thing, I can’t recommend anyone better. Many thanks to VIVID Entertainment for hooking me up with tickets and for putting on so many awesome shows this summer! (Andy Moor, Andy Moor, Andy Moor!)

Description: The sun finally came back, the perfect opportunity to try out a new dress and shooting style to boot. Sadly, it looks like my 50mm is getting a little soft. Clarity aside, what do you folks think of the look? Thanks so much to todays model for taking the time out to help me out!

Location(s): Bugis Area, Singapore
Model(s): Alyssa T, MJ
Description: It’s been a long time since these photos were taken, but I finally managed to hunker down and edit the favourites. Both girls performed exceptionally well as first-time models with virtually no direction. They handled makeup and wardrobe themselves too. Blew my mind. Totally natural talent. Big ups to Aly and MJ!

There’s a lot more where these came from, so for the remainder of the photos, don’t forget to check out the Flickr set!

Lines in the Sand: To Home, To The Sea

Life’s been a whirlwind, and I know I’ve left you all hanging again (sorry on that), but I figure disappearing to Maui for a wedding is an awfully good reason, don’t you think? It’s done wonders for my photography. Dig in!

Congratulations L&K: Small Chapel, Grand Wailea

The world-famous chapel at the Grand Wailea resort. Congratulations to the newlyweds, Laurie and Ken!

Exploring Grand Wailea: Path to Eden

Just minutes from the chapel, a path ran the edge of the waterline, ending at this tree.

Maui Yin: Hercules

While travelling along Maui’s western coast, we found this beach, surely kin to Hollywood’s own.

Maui Yin: Forbidden Door

While passing through Wailuku, we stopped at a small Thai restaurant. In the back hid this long-forgotten door.

On Top Of The World: Quietude

Rain clouds sat heavy when we visited Haleakala (the highest point on Maui); the world is awfully quiet 10,000 feet above sea level – or maybe just when it rains.

On Top Of The World: Usual Suspects

On the trip back from Haleakala, we found this surfer’s paradise.

Maui Yang: Abandoned

With hours to kill before our flight, we made one last jaunt for Hana. Halfway there sat this car, abandoned by the wayside.

Maui Yang: End of the Road

Running out of time just short of Hana, we turned back and found a panoramic view of the great Pacific. Naturally, I was more interested in this fence.

Maui Yang: At The End Of The World

The last photo of the trip and a very fitting one, standing before sunset at the end of the world.
