Hanging Up My Gloves: Introducing Colours 2010

Today, Saturday, April 24th, 2010, I say my final goodbyes to the 2010 Winter Games. After three months, 33 countries, and 151 photos, my Olympic photo project, COLOURS 2010, is complete.

I never dreamed it would have been so big. I expected a dozen, maybe twenty photos at most, but it quickly ballooned into a project that had me out every single day, chasing people with flags, jerseys, face paint – you name it. Anyone wearing their colours, I approached and I photographed.

Even though I never made it to Whistler and I never saw the houses, I can’t imagine a better Games experience. I may not have done everything, but I was there for the jubilation, the comradery, and all the surprises. It’s a unique experience all my own – but one that shouldn’t be. So today, I open those doors to you.

Looking back, I know I’ll always smile on those four weeks. I pray that with COLOURS 2010, you will too.
